GLOBAL WARMING

Just yesterday, I attended a seminar. Actually, I don't know the topic. I just went there for my own benefit. For the additional points that would be given to us if we attend the seminar every Friday. I think it would run for 5 weeks. The seminar was conducted by my professor in circuits. At first I was hesitant to go because it was not on my schedule. I've got so much thing to do and need to be done as soon as possible. And besides I was so sick of going to seminars because most of the time I don't understand whats being talked about. Not my interest. I am being forced all the time.

It was supposed to be starting at 6pm. I went there at 6:15pm, still the seminar was on hold. There were technical things that need to be fixed. It supposed to be fixed before the allotted time for the seminar. Well, you know Pinoy. Most of us like to cram to do things up to the last minute.

I had a chitchat with a friend while waiting for the seminar to start. We talked about our organization. We had different organization, his was for music addicts while mine was an academic organization that doesn't look like one. In our organization, we have this so called "PH" which stands for Public Humiliation. We make the applicants to do things that will test your ability to do things without hesitation. We want to eliminate the shyness. And of course, we want to see the applicant's abilities. His organization does some PH too.

The seminar was about to start when the speaker (my professor) said, "Instead of me giving the talk, lets watch first this film about an introduction for our topics. Global warming is an introduction for our topic energy conservation." Global warming? I said in my mind,"Great! I'm going to be stuck here for 2 hours hearing all about some stupid topic."

As the film starts, I said to my friend that It's my interest to watch documentary films. I even watch 9/11 Fahrenheit. It was a long movie but it had given me information and made me think what was happening in the world. Even though it only focused on BUSH stupid business with Bin Laden.

Al Gore was the speaker in the film. He gives the talk about whats happening in the world today and his life. I never know Al Gore before. Only heard him because of the controversy in the states. That BUSH won over him because he was cheated.

As the film was going, it made me realize that we are really responsible for whats happening in this world today. We suffered for our own cause. One striking thing about the movie was the before and after picture of the different places in the world. The result was very devastating. Now, I'm so afraid on what going to happen if we never change our habit. All the waste, such as CO2 coming from our cars, industrial plants and the likes, stuck in the atmosphere change the way we live. Not only us human but also other living things. Numerous viral diseases has emerged because of this problem.

To cut it short, ('coz I'm tired and late for school). We should all act to save our home. The government should also implements laws that would really help saved the environment. Here in the Philippines, I really don't feel that the government does give laws to be eliminate CO2 and CFCs on our cars and other appliances. Other countries implement such laws.

We should not measure whats more important between earning for GOLD than to save our own home. Al Gore also showed an image of the world which was taken by astronauts outside the galaxy. The Earth is a white dot in the darkness.

If we don't give a damn to save the Earth, it was like killing yourself slowly without even knowing it.
